Life On Mars sees 21st century cop Sam Tyler (John Simm) hit by a car only to find himself in the Manchester of 1973. The world of the nineteen-seventies is a confusing and frustrating place for Sam particularly his superior DCI Gene Hunt (Phillip Glenister) who himself is the very embodiment of the unrepentant politically incorrect man of the time.
