Another great BBC documentary. If you watched the series on TV you will probably like to buy its bluray, too. Each time I wonder how BBC can make so unique documentaries. Producing this series cost BBC £10 million. 130 stories were handled and each was filmed by different group of pros. If you watch the "on location" parts after each episode, you'll see how much they worked on each story. There was a scene which is 20-30 seconds long. They are filming a jungle-like spot and they want to show you the 4 seasons in this 20-30 seconds. If they wanted to do that on a fixed location its not a big deal with today's technology. But they want to show that spot with a moving camera. In order to do that they created the same spot in the studio except the trees. They put the exact plants to the exact locations as they are in the jungle and they kept filming them for a year. Meanwhile they filmed on the jungle spot too. Then they joined both images and created this unique scene. This scene really impressed me. While watching the series you'll wonder how they can actually film some scenes, because they are not easy to shot even in a studio. This series is just hard work and spectacular effort from BBC. The legendary narrator David Attenborough makes this documentary more valuable. Don't miss this series if you like documentaries in high definition quality.
