Sendit.com know how important it is to customers that any sensitive information they give us will be secure. CVC is an important tool which helps authenticate card details and protect against card misuse.
It refers to a number which is printed on the card - most usually this is a 3 or 4 digit number. This number is printed on your MasterCard & Visa cards in the signature area of the back of the card. (it is commonly the last 3 digits in the signature area of the card). You can find your four-digit card verification number on the front of your American Express credit card above the credit card number on either the right or the left side of your credit card.
This number will be requested once only and will not be required for any subsequent orders.

In order to verify a customers details, Sendit.com performs automated address verification and security number checking. In order to complete this check a small amount of £1 is authorized (put aside) by the card issuer and this is used to check the address and security (cvc/cvv2) number corresponds with the details listed by both the cardholders and card issuer.
Depending on where you live, this check will be performed in one of two ways:
For UK customers:
This money never leaves your account, but may affect your available balance - ie the amount you are able to withdraw from your account - so it is advisable to take this into consideration before making a purchase.
For International customers:
This check is performed by taking the £1 out of the account and subsequently refunding it. The removal of the £1 and the subsequent refund all happen within a very short time frame.
