Howl explores the life of Poet Allen Ginsberg, but the form this film takes is unusual, it juxtaposes 3 different threads.
While reconstructing his early life in black and white, during the forties and fifties, and showing the first performance of his poem 'Howl' at the sixth gallery reading.
It also interweaves with colour images and clips from the 1957 obscenity trial and short animated pieces. With this level of complexity it makes for interesting viewing.
