Jack Mabry (Robert De Niro) is not far from retirement after years as a parole officer and decides to take one last assignment before he retires. He must reassess convicted arsonist Gerald "Stone" Creeson (Edward Norton) who was convicted for setting fire to his grandparent’s house in order to make their death seem accidental.
Stone is desperate to get out of prison and will do anything to get out, including placing his beautiful wife Lucetta (Milla Jovovich) in Jack’s path. His plan is for Lucetta to seduce Jack in hope he will become vulnerable and award Stone’s acquittal.
But has Lucetta suffered the stress of her demanding husband for too long and is she falling for Jack? -M.F.
