Nominated for 4 BAFTAS including Leading Actress and Supporting Actor, The Iron Lady starring Award-Winning Meryl Streep tells the compelling story of Margaret Thatcher, a woman who smashed through the barriers of gender and class to be heard in a male-dominated world. The story concerns power and the price that is paid for power, and is a surprising and intimate portrait of an extraordinary and complex woman. Hailed as "The Movie Event of 2012" by Live Magazine - The Mail on Sunday, "Exhilarating" by The Daily Telegraph, and "Extraordinary" by The Financial Times, The Iron Lady is one to own.

Maggie
Iron Lady
This film surprised me in it's depiction of the "Iron Lady" with at times almost a softer side to her which brought a tear to my wife's eye. On the other hand they failed to show the imposition of the Poll Tax firstly on Scotland then, to her downfall, on England - which led to bringing her down. However, it did show how inept her male cabinet was at making any real decisions which left her really unchallenged for years. At least she did know the price of food-stuff in the shops which is something I doubt today's Cabinet could match.
