    Description

    Release Date: 18 October 2010

"The Mono Box" initially might seem somewhat perplexing - why on earth would anyone want to pay for the mono recordings of Dylan’s first eight albums when they could have them in stereo? They would however be overlooking something - in the 1960's stereo was very much overlooked as something that none but the most obsessive of music collectors would invest in. Therefore the job of mixing for stereo was often done by third parties and with little to no artist input. Inversely the mono recording was how the artist intended for it to be heard which is something worth paying for. Moreover many of the earliest Dylan albums do not benefit from stereo which tends to effect the composition negatively. This makes the mono collection a must have purchase for individuals not fortunate enough to own the original Vinyl releases.
