Rock still rules the world and in the world of rock Motorhead rule, and in the world of Motorhead, 'Ace Of Spades' can claim a pivotal role in inspiring some of the greatest rock acts of all time.
Known primarily as a live act and a touring band, we enter into the anarchic world of some of rock's truly unique characters. Motorhead's overwhelmingly loud and fast style of heavy metal was groundbreaking in the late 70s and though Lemmy's roots were in progressive space rock band Hawkwind he chose to amplify the heavy biker rock elements with the speed of punk when he formed Motorhead. They weren't punk, forming before the sex pistols, but they were just as anarchic and they were the first metal band to harness punk energy in their frenzied wall of sound. 'Ace of Spades' was the album that sealed Motorhead's reputation as the loudest and heaviest band in the world.
