DJ Food - The Search Engine (Limited Edition) CD

After eleven years DJ Food has returned to bless us with 'The Search Engine' – a typically sample-heavy, electronic album. With Coldcut on production and Strictly Kev on the mixer, this project features many artists as well as many genres, and traditionally offers metaphorical 'food for deejays' with its wide variety of breaks, loops, and samples.

Incorporating hip/trip-hop to drum and bass, and everything in between, 'The Search Engine' is a futuristic, Sci-fy journey through the audible "engine". After beginning with a slightly sinister introduction, the album moves into a deep groove early on with 'Giant', familiarising you with the underlying drum-beat that works as a template on following tracks. Coldcut's production is reminiscent of the 90s cut up style and effortlessly incorporates genres such as techno and garage rock into his medley of electronic experimentation. Progression through the album unearths some awesome cuts in the form of 'Illectrik Hoax', 'Sentinel (Shadow Guard)', and 'Magpie Music' – each offering something uniquely significant to an album which works as testament to the intricate art of DJing.
