"Cats and Dogs" is the eagerly anticipated second studio album by the American hip hop artist Evidence, whose name was accidentally coined by Black Eyed Peas member will.i.am. This album is his first record since his 2007 solo debut "The Weatherman LP", making this his first release in over years.
Evidence stays true to the bitter sweet grime that is real hip hop, keeping the drum and bass beats minimal, low and understated, allowing his lyrics to be spat out as clear and distinctive as you can get, keeping all the focus on his words. This album allows Evidence to prove himself as a wordsmith, slowly layering line upon line over the beat, barely pausing to take a breath, yet somehow retaining the chorus as catchy and powerful.
Featured on this album are the incredibly written singles "To Be Continued...", "You" and "It Wasn't Me", which features a cameo appearance from his accidental name giver will.i.am in the music video. For all lovers of true gritty, urban hip hop, this album is one for you. (Cat Emerson)
