Neil Diamond's sumptuously orchestrated 1977 album I'M GLAD YOU'RE HERE WITH ME TONIGHT starts with a cover of the Beach Boys' "God Only Knows" and ends with Joni Mitchell's "Free Man in Paris". In between is an eclectic collection of Diamond classics, like the original of his hit duet with Barbra Streisand, "You Don't Bring Me Flowers", the disco-influenced "Desiree", and the faux-classical "Lament in D Minor/Dance of the Sabres", all of which demonstrate the performer at his classy pop baroque best.
