The brainchild of Simon Cowell, multi-national quartet II Divo were formed in 2004 with the aim of popularising the genre of popera (pop opera), something which was attained with the release of their self titled debut. Moreover in the period of 7 years they have succeeded in selling over 25 million albums and charting internationally with the 2005 release "Ancora" remaining the only classical crossover album to reach top spot on the U.S Billboard 200.
The group’s sixth album "Wicked Game" is in keeping with past efforts, and admirably displays the impressive vocal range and legendary interplay of the group but, as noted by the members, it also reflects a growing sense of maturity which is apparent throughout the album. The album is host to a range of music that includes the much anticipated cover of Chris Isaak's hit from which the album gets its name, and in addition to this there are versions of Roy Orbison's "Crying" and Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Don't Cry for Me Argentina". (Adam Bibby)
This special edition includes a beautiful 150 page hardback book, containing stunning black and white reportage photography of the band allowing us to get closer that we’ve been to the band throughout the recording sessions for the album, on tour in Japan, preparing for their shows at the London Coliseum and following the band to their home countries and inviting us into their own homes to show a little of their lives beyond Il Divo.
This edition also includes the CD of the new album and a 90 minute DVD "Live in London", filmed on the 2nd August at the London Coliseum and including behind the scenes footage of the band following them throughout 2011 in the build up to the release of "Wicked Game".
