Insomnium's "One For Sorrow" mixes melodic metal and blackened death putting the cold hooks back into the bleak sound of doom.
Formed in 1997, Insomnium have made their name known throughout Europe setting the boundaries of this particular genre of metal and in 2001 the band had signed to English label Candlelight Records.
As the years progressed their music was getting better known and they started to spread outside of Europe, joining tours in North America and even washing up on the cold English shores with land mark metal acts such as Amorphis, Katatonia, Enslaved and Satyricon.
Insomnium are renowned for having elements of Scandinavian death metal in their music and being able pull back into something angelic and atmospheric. "One For Sorrow" is no exception with crushing riffs and haunting misery that can only drag you into their tortured world.
