"Here I Am (Repackaged)" is the re-release and extended edition of the massive hit third studio album by the renowned American singer Kelly Rowland, who is known worldwide as being one of the three members of the now disbanded iconic American girl band Destiny's Child, and who is now a judge on the English reality talent television show The X Factor.
The album is chock full of party and dance tunes, alongside ballads and also pop anthems with a distinctive soulful RandB twist that Kelly Rowland has worked hard to make her own, allowing each song on the album to stand out and be original. This record is an innovative, revitalised and refreshing take on the traditional pop and RandB sounds, as Kelly incorporates elements of European dance music and culture in order to make an urban-electro sound that hooks the listener in a musically intoxicating way.
As well as the brilliant and infectious hit singles from this album "Commander", "Motivation", "Lay It On Me" and "Down For Whatever", this edition of "Here I Am" also includes five bonus tracks, such as the chart smashing hit non-album single "When Love Takes Over", featuring the impressive French DJ David Guetta, as well as a Diplo remix of her single "Motivation". Each song amply displays her vocal talents and abilities, her range reaching sky high notes guaranteed to give the listener goosebumps, whilst keeping the lyrics fresh, seductive and the melodies uptempo and energetic.
This album is an absolute triumph for Kelly Rowland, as she has reinvented her sound to the absolute joy of herself and her fans, showing how much she has grown as a solo musical artist, and this repackaged edition of "Here I Am" is a perfect example of this growth with the help of extra songs tracking further back in to her musical history. An album you can never get tired of listening to. (Cat Emerson)
