    Description

    Release Date: 14 September 2009

'The Resistance' is the fifth studio album by the super stadium rock gods, Muse. As a follow-up to their hugely successful, triple platinum selling 'Black Holes and Revelations', this release offers fans a more ambitious yet alternative side to their music.

    Muse

This intergalactic sci-fy voyage tells the story of forbidden love in 'Eurasia' – a cosmic universe created within the perpetual realms of this totally absurd yet wholly individual album. The use of zooming guitars and beefed up strings keeps a running theme from previous releases, but from the first track 'Uprising' it is evident that the band have widened their horizon of sound. The release as a whole makes for a wondrous listen, but tracks such as 'United States of Eurasia' and the three final 'Exogenesis' symphonies are phantasmagorical masterpieces and deserve abundant attention (not that you have much of an option).

'The resistance' is an imaginative, sonic journey through the auditory mind of a band who transcend modern genres, refuse to conform, and constantly aspire to produce fruitful and ageless music. A must have! (John Minard)
