Nasir Jones returned with another cult hip hop classic in 2001, this time under the name of "Stillmatic". In contrast to Nas's previous work, the project contains socially conscious and philosophical themes which were similar to the emotions expressed on his iconic debut "Illmatic".
"Stillmatic" received a classic 5 mic rating from The Source magazine and features the famous track "Ether", in which Nas takes shots at fellow hip hop icon Jay-Z.
At a time when people were questioning the image of Nas, he responded to the critics with a perfectly crafted piece of work. (Trevor Pratt)
