"Here And Now" is the eagerly awaited seventh studio album by the renowned and iconic Canadian rock band Nickelback, and is their first release in three years, following their sixth record "Dark Horse" in 2008.
The album stays true to the distinctive musical style that Nickelback has claimed as their own, drawing on dirty, grungey musical arrangements which blend together to create a textured weave of melody for each song. Heavy on the throbbing bass, with plenty of weighted chord progressions and guitar riffs, accompanied by a steady barrage of drum beats and led by lead singer Chad Kroeger's distinctive, throaty vocals.
Featured on the album are the singles "Bottoms Up", a classic party on and rock on Nickelback song, as well as "When We Stand Together": a more acoustic guitar based song, composed with meaningful lyrics and a more lighter melody compared to their usual musical style.
In the game for over fifteen years, Nickelback just keep knocking out hit after hit album, and this one follows in the same chain and degree as their previous releases: hard rock, enjoyable for all. (Cat Emerson)
