"Feels Like Home" is the wonderful second album by the talented American singer/song writer Norah Jones, released in 2004, and is the follow up to her debut record "Come Away With Me" which was released in 2002.
This album is slightly more country music influenced than her previous release, which is demonstrated in the delicate twang in the guitar picking (particuarly on the single "Sunrise"). This style is following in the tradition of keeping the melodies in Norah's songs to a bare minimum, as to only accompany her voice, the tone of which can be described as rich, liquid gold, each note full of warmth and soul.
This album includes the singles "Sunrise", "What Am I To You?", "Those Sweet Words" and "Sleepless Nights", all of which are quietly understated, yet this does not retract from the power of Norah's voice and the words she sings. The album itself being a steady, emotional rollercoaster of soulful words and tunes.
This record "Feels Like Home" shows Norah Jones has, if possible, become even better as an artist since her debut album, and shows her growth in establishing musical arrangements and lyrics. (Cat Emerson)
