Radiohead - The Bends [2CD+DVD] CD

English rock band Radiohead have been a consistent driving force within their respective genre for two decades now, constantly pushing the boundaries and endeavouring to challenge themselves (as well as others) musically.

'The Bends' was released in 1995 and proved that the band could please both fans of experimental pop and deep-seated, implicit rock already entwined in the bands ethos.  Without conforming to levels typical of commercial success (e.g. vastly overused swooning guitar clichés), this album offered fans an alternative to the likes of R.E.M. and U2 with tracks such as the space-invading opener 'Planet Telex', as well 'Bullet Proof', and 'Street Spirit'.

The bonus disc features 21 tracks including b-sides from the 'My Iron Lung', 'Fake Plastic Trees', 'Street Spirit (Fade Out)', and 'High and Dry/Planet Telex' singles, as well as a selection of tracks from the BBC Radio 1 Session recording in '94. Disc three is a DVD containing music videos, footage of live performances in London '94, Holland '95, and on 'Later... With Jools Holland' in '95, as well as Top of the Pops performances in the same year.

Digitally edited and remastered, and complete with a 6-page booklet featuring lyrics, sleeve covers, and liner notes this Deluxe Edition has everything a fan of Radiohead will need in relation to this fantastic album. (John Minard)
