    Description

    Release Date: 02 April 2012

'Love After War' is the superb fifth studio album by the American/Canadian soul and R 'n' B recording artist Robin Thicke. This record is the follow up to his fourth studio album 'Sex Therapy', which was released in 2009.

The album is a slick and suave masterpiece, with Thicke's vocals taking the main stage on each song, each word dripping with soul and passion. Complemented by understated bossa nova melodies that are made contemporary with an urban twist, Thicke's voice is never overshadowed as he ranges from strong and soulful to feathery falsetto, meaning each song will never sound exactly like the last.

Featured on the album are the singles 'Pretty Lil' Heart', in which Thicke has collaborated with the innovative American rapper Lil' Wayne, and also the album titled track 'Love After War'. The single 'Pretty Lil' Heart' lends to Thicke's musical diversity as it falls within the urban field of the musical world, as the combination of Wayne's gravelly voice mixed with Thicke's emotional and melodic vocals makes for four minutes of musical genius. Infectious and riddled with emotion, 'Love After War' is sure to please all of Robin Thicke's fans, whether new or old. (Cat Emerson)
