Simon & Garfunkel were in many ways the definitive musical pairing of the sixties: embodying the counter-culture protest movements which defined that seminal decade of the twentieth century. Further to this there work has proceeded to influence successive generations of songwriters and musicians across multiple genres including the progressive rock band "Yes" and the all female pop rock group "The Bangles".
The Collection” covers all five of the duos studio albums from their 1964 debut "Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M." to 1970's "Bridge Over Troubled Water". Naturally this expansive selection includes hits like the allegorical masterpiece "Scarborough Fair (Canticle)", the scathing social commentary of "Richard Cory", and the pseudo mystical dreamscape of "Sound of Silence". Also featured within this package is a DVD recording of the free September 1981 concert the reunited Paul Simon & Art Garfunkel gave in Central Park, A collection that encompasses the remastered studio work of two of the most influential figures in musical history "The Collection" should be part of any music lovers library.
