    Description

    Release Date: 23 April 2012

T.Rex's sixth studio album "Electric Warrior" soared to the top of the charts in the December of 1971, and then again in the January 1972. Today it is widely regarded as one of the best albums to come from the glam rock movement. Commemorating the more than forty years that have passed since it's initial release is this 3 disc (2CD + DVD) Box Set which provides a more comprehensive overview of the work than was ever possible to imagine previously.

The first disc includes the (remastered) original album which was so well received on the back of leading songs like "Get it On" and "Jeepster", but also includes 4 bonus tracks. The second disc, on the other hand, is comprised of a large number of demos and outtakes from the recording sessions that culminated in "Electric Warrior", like fascinating versions of the aforementioned hits. The DVD that comes as part of the set draws on an assortment of material to present items of interest like contemporary Top of the Pops performances, official promotional footage, and exciting live performances.

This package also includes reproductions of rare photographs, a poster, timeline, coaster, facsimile memorabilia and a 32 page hardback book which includes contributions from well known Bolan biographer Mark Paytress, which make it perfect for the dedicated fan! (Adam Bibby)

Electric Warrior (Box Set - 2CD and DVD)

Electric Warrior has excellent quality sound. I was happy that the singles and B sides of that period were included. The second CD, although enjoyable, was slightly misleading. Most of the tracks I believe were just the original recordings without all of the tracks from the 8 or 16 track master tape. The DVD was excellent in picture quality and well put together. The rest of the package was great and very well done. All in all, the box set was a big hit for me.
