'The Singles' is an concise over-view of the career of the English punk rock band, The Clash, who gained a huge following during the late '70s to mid '80s.

This album follows the path the band took from the early days at the heart of the British punk movement, through to the more experimental phases of their later funk orientated material. As well as featuring great tracks off the original UK 45s (7-inch vinyl) such as 'London Calling', 'Rock the Casbah', 'White Riot', 'Should I Stay or Should I Go', and 'I Fought the Law', there are also rarities to be found ('Bankrobber', 'Hitsville UK', 'This is Radio Clash', 'Call Up', and 'Know Your Rights').
Many of the group's best records (particularly their early work) were released as singles and so this compilation will especially appeal to the hardcore fans as well as being a great starting block for new-comers the The Clash's unrivaled sound. (John Minard)
