Produced by the world-famous John Leckie (The Stone Roses, The Verve, Radiohead), the album took just over two years to write and perfect, and marks a milestone in the band's evolution after the departure of guitarist Bill Ryder-Jones.

As on previous releases ('The Coral', 'Magic and Medicine', 'The Invisible Invasion', 'Roots and Echoes') the group's sound blended '60s stoner rock with melodious, feel-good tones. This release sees The Corals progression towards a pop-savvy vibe and a more mainstream angle. Don't let this put you off though, laden with more catchy riffs and infectious hooks than you can shake a stick at, 'Butterfly House' is a contemporary classic.
