With over thirty years of adventures behind the Doctor it is not surprising to find that there have been a number of spin-off dramas featuring some of the many characters and monsters introduced in that time. K9 and Company, featuring the Doctor's robot dog and companion Sarah Jane Smith, may be the only one to have been broadcast by the BBC, but there have also been a number of other officially licensed dramas released straight to video, often boasting many familiar actors from the world of Doctor Who in different roles. These include a trilogy of stories featuring the Autons, Shakedown - Return of the Sontarans and the PROBE series which features the Third Doctor's companion Liz Shaw.
