    Description

    Release Date: 28 April 2008

Husband and wife team and Royal Shakespeare Company players Dame Judi Dench and Michael Williams star in this BAFTA award-winning ITV series, originally broadcast between November 1981 and February 1984. She plays Laura, who is 37 and unmarried. He plays Mike, also single. When the pair are introduced at a party, their initial awkward relationship soon blooms into romance. Over the course of four series, Mike and Laura fall for each other, split up and are reunited. It seems this is one romance that's not destined to run smoothly... A Fine Romance was always in the ITV Top Ten and was the recipient of two BAFTA accolades - Best Actress (1982) and Best Light Entertainment Performance (1985). This boxset contains all 26 episodes of this fondly-remembered and highly popular sitcom.

Series 1: Laura's sister, Helen, is anxious to see Laura 'married off' and introduces her to Mike at a party. The relationship is awkward but they pretend they are getting along well to keep Helen happy...

Series 2: After Helen and Phil's matchmaking, Laura and Mike are in a patchy relationship. This series sees them start to live together, but as their romance blossoms the inevitable cracks appear.

Series 3: Laura and Mike's problems really begin when Laura gets broody and decides she wants children, realising she hasn't got much time left. Mike doesn't like the idea and a wedge forms between them.

Series 4: Despite a rocky relationship at the end of the last series, Mike begins to realise what he could be missing out on, but can he bring himself to propose..?
