Husband and wife team and Royal Shakespeare Company players Dame Judi Dench and Michael Williams star in this BAFTA award-winning ITV series, originally broadcast between November 1981 and February 1984.

She plays Laura, who is thirty-seven and unmarried. He plays Mike, also single. When the pair are introduced at a party, their initial awkward relationship soon blooms into romance. Over the course of four series, Mike and Laura fall for each other, split up and are reunited. It seems this is one romance that's not destined to run smoothly...
