Alan Bleasdale is one of the most successful and influential writers working in British television, best known for his powerful but darkly comic realist drama miniseries. JAKE'S PROGRESS: Parenthood is not what Jamie and Julie Diadoni expected and son Jake is born at a time of domestic tension. Jamie loses his job and Julie becomes the full time breadwinner, while he takes on the role of house husband. Jake grows up loving his father but resenting his often absent mother. A new pregnancy is the final straw.
