Angel returns to Los Angeles after spending time alone mourning Buffy's death. He is quickly drawn back into the daily routine of Angel Investigations whose newest member, Fred, is readjusting to life after being rescued from an alternate dimension. As Fred slowly develops a crush on Angel, Angel begins having similar feelings for Cordelia, while Wesley and Gunn vie for Fred's attention. But then Angel's old love, Darla, shows up pregnant with Angel's baby. Although vampires cannot have children, a stunned Angel promises to help Darla with the birth of her baby, while Wesley, Fred and Gunn are more concerned about exactly what kind of baby Darla is having.
