Looking forward to bier kellers, frauleins, high wages and no taxes, Dennis (Tim Healy), Neville (Kevin Whately) and Oz (Jimmy Nail) leave Newcastle for work on a building in Dusseldorf, meeting up with fellow ex-pats Wayne (Gary Holton), Bowder (Pat Roah), Barry (Timothy Spall) and Moxey (Christopher Fairbank).
Episode 1- If I Were a Carpenter; Brickie Neville must pose as a carpenter to get the job in Germany and a drunken night out means no home leave for a while.
Episode 2 - Who Won the War Anyway; Nevill's appalling carpentary skills lead to the sack but he unexpectedly redeems himself. Meanwhile Oz tried to start World War Three.
Episode 3 - The Girls they Left Behind; An accidental plane trip leads to an unexpected reconciliation between Oz and Marjorie, the wife he abandoned. But is he back for good?
