A dark Northern comedy based on the best selling book by Kate Long, The Bad Mother’s Handbook tells the story of a year in the life of 3 generations of women living in one house in Bolton. The main theme revolves around the fact that Karen (Catherine Tate) had her now teenage daughter Charlie (Holly Grainger) when she was very young, and can’t help but feel that her life would have been very different if she hadn’t made this mistake. When Charlie and Nan (Anne Reid) both accidentally turn Karen’s world upside down however, she discovers things that will change her life for ever. Also starring Robert Pattison (Twilight) as Charlie’s boyfriend.
