From T.F. Mou, the director of the notorious 'Man Behind The Sun' (notorious, amongst other things, for its use of real human limbs as special effects props), comes this bloody and graphic re-telling of one the world's most horrendous and bloody atrocities.
In the early stages of World War II, before the involvement of the U.S. army, the Chinese city of Nanking was invaded by the Japanese who remorselessly and brutally butchered its inhabitants in a bid to claim the territory as its own.
With an unflinching eye, Mou captures the unbelievable horrors of this most appalling act in a way that is at once horrendous yet undeniably elegant, and dares the viewer to watch as he recreates one of the world's most inhumane acts in minute and often gut-wrenching detail.
