Marshal John Carruthers (Wayne) goes undercover to unmask crooked speculators fronted by Melgrove, the town's leading citizen, who intend to buy up the supposedly worthless town that actually stands on the top of a huge load of gold.

John Blair (Wayne) and his partner Larry purchase a run-down stagecoach line and enter a race with competing stage operator Cal Drake for the rights to a government mail-delivery contract. But Drake is dishonest and uses his villainous flunky smoky to attempt John's and Larry's defeat, by any means necessary.

The Trail Beyond
Rod Drew (Wayne) has been sent to find a missing miner and his daughter in snowy mountain timber country. On the way Rod saves college pal Wabi from cardsharps that framed him for murder. When they find a skeleton and a map leading to a gold mine, henchman LaRocque sees and is determined to have the mine for himself.
