The brutal murder of two young white girls results in the wrongful execution of a young African-American boy. Thirty years later, his brother, war-torn Green Beret James Bragg (Louis Gossett Jr.,), investigates the facts to clear his name. With the aid of a local lawman (Bruce Dern), Bragg must delve into the town's history in order to deliver the real killer to justice.
