Following the incredible success of Fernando Mereilles' and Katia Lund's Oscar-nominated City of God, comes the explosive TV series City of Men. First aired on television in 2002, City of Men drew a massive 35 million viewers in its native Brazil. Written and directed by Mereilles, Lund and Paulo Lins (author of the book on which City of God was based), all nine episodes from the first and second seasons are included for the first time on this double-disc DVD.

Taking place in a notorious Rio slum, and filmed on location using local actors to capture the gritty realism of Brazilian street life, City of Men follows the adventures of two teenage boys Laranjinha (Darlan Cunha) and Acerola (Douglas Silva, who played Little Dice in City of God) as they struggle to grow up surrounded by poverty and the lucrative temptations offered by the drug trade. City of Men combines a sharp sense of humour with a startlingly grim reality and brings the freshest and most exciting Brazilian talent to the screen.
