Description

Rita Hayworth, Academy Award winner Gene Kelly (Honorary Award, 1952), Phil Silvers and Eve Arden star in this lavishly produced musical about a nightclub dancer from Brooklyn who leaves her sweetheart after winning a Cover Girl contest - only to learn that fame and fortune are no substitute for true love.

Cover Girl also boasts a sparkling score by Jerome Kern and Ira Gershwin, with the enduring ballad "Long Ago and Far Away," which won an Academy Award nomination for Best Song (1944) and remains one of the most beautiful songs ever written for a film. Cover Girl also received four other Oscar nominations for Best Score, Best Sound, Best Colour Art Direction and Best Set Decoration.
