Following the continuing challenges faced by the recently widowed D.I. Maggie Forbes, this third series of The Gentle Touch features more powerful and contemporary storylines that reflected the changing nature of police work in 1980s Britain. With appearances by George Sewell and scripts by a distinguished team of writers that included Terence Feely (Thriller) and Roger Marshall (The Sweeney, The Professionals), it’s no surprise that The Gentle Touch was one of the most successful police dramas ever made. This complete series was originally screened in 1981 and 1982.
