    Description

    Release Date: 25 April 2005

Heartless is a heart warming comedy drama (from the makers of Mrs Brown and Monarch of the Glen) starring Angus Deayton and Simone Lahbib, set in the stunning landscape of the Isle of Skye.

Angus Deayton stars as Harry Holland a charming and gregarious - but also a ruthless and hedonistic - barrister who lives life to excess. Struck down in the middle of a major trial by a rare cardiac condition, Harry is rushed to hospital where he wakes up three weeks later after a successful heart transplant operation. He's soon back at work but since his brush with death, his heart just isn't in it. To his dismay, he has changed into a different man, questioning the morals of his career and unable to enjoy his old bachelor lifestyle. Harry becomes convinced he has taken on the personality of the person whose heart he has inherited - and decides to trace the background of his donor.

His quest leads him to a remote Scottish village where headstrong widow Amanda MacNaughton (Simone Lahbib) is trying to rebuild her life with her two young sons after the death of her husband in a motorbike accident.

Hiding the true reason for his arrival, Harry tries to befriend the aloof and still grieving Amanda by getting to know her sons. Gradually her hostility towards him begins to crumble - particularly as there is something about him that's so familiar... Can a relationship from such bizarre beginnings change their lives for ever?
