    30TH ANNIVERSARY COLLECTOR’S SET.
Academy Award-Winner Meryl Streep Stars In This Original TV Dramatisation Of One Of The Most Monstrous Crimes
In World History-The Slaughter Of 6 Million Jews By The Nazis.

Dramatically and definitively, the story covers an entire decade, the eventful years from 1935 to 1945. HOLOCAUST focuses on the tragedy and triumph of a single family-the Weiss family. Their story is told in counter-poise to that of another fictional family, that of Erik Dorf, a Nazi aide to Germany's infamous Reinhard Heydrich.

Starring a brilliant international cast and filmed on location in Berlin and Vienna.

    Holocaust

This film is over eight hours long and follows the fortunes of the Weiss family who happen to be jewish and Berlin residents during the German Nazi period. It follows how each memeber of the are treated at the hands of the SS. I remember watching this as a child along with my parents and being shocked to discover that the series was based upon what had actually happened to the jews during the second World War. At the time they reassured me that it could not happen again. Sadly just a matter of a few years later it was being repeated against other ethnic groups in the Yugoslav territories and further lands since. This film shows the impact that human intolerance of others can have on an ordinary family. This was no doubt what did happen to a number of families whose only crime was to be different from those they lived among. It should be shown widely in schools throughout the World, so that it can be realised that we need to respect each others beliefs.
