    Description

    Release Date: 21 January 2008

Set in the Women's Guild of the small West Country town of Clatterford St. Mary, this new series written by Jennifer Saunders stars some of the best-loved women in comedy. Local practice nurse, Sal lives at the centre of the community, but has always gone out of her way to avoid being recruited by the Women's Guild. Things change, however, when her husband dies suddenly of a heart attack. Feeling neglected and alone, she decides it's time to stop sleeping in the dog basket, get a haircut and embark on her new life. And where better to start afresh that the local Women's Guild?

While the Guild waits with bated breath to see if Hannah Gordan will give this month's talk, Sal gets a chance to assess her fellow members: Rosie (or Margaret depending on whether she's taken her medication), Delilah Stagg of the loose false teeth and orange tights; rock star's mother Caroline who's arrived fresh from an evening at Madonna's; Kate, the local grieving group visitor, still wallowing in widowhood and Queenie, a lollipop lady in search of some traffic.

Could there really be some fun to be had amongst the knitting, cake-baking and behind-the-scenes at Lidl sideshows, or will Sal fins them as appetising as their marrow and sultana chutney?
