    Description

    Release Date: 20 February 2006

Acclaimed director Michel Deville (Death in a French Garden, La Lectrice) directs this slick, surreal whodunit. Originally released in 1986 it fabulous cast, witty dialogue and ingenious camera work made it an international hit.

Four card players meet in a bar every night. The Journalist - Daniel Auteuil (Jean de Florette), The Doctor - Richard Bohringer (Tango), The Tradesman - Philippe Leotard (La Balance), and The Professor - Claude Pieplu (The Tenant).

The bar is run by The Brother Keeper - Jeanne Moreau (Jules et Jim) and is frequented by working girl Lotte - Fanny Ardant (8 Women). Michel Piccoli (La Belle Noiseuse) is the downtrodden barman Le Paltoquet (The Nonentity).

When there is murder in a nearby hotel they all become suspects, but which one is a killer? The Inspector - Jean Yanne (Week End) casts his expert eye over the assembled suspects. Who could it be?

Shot almost entirely in the cavernous bar this a film where nothing is quite what it seems.
