As Greg (Ben Stiller) and Pam’s (Teri Polo) wedding is approaching Jack (Robert De Niro) and Dina (Blythe Danner) decide it’s time for them to meet Greg’s parents as they will all soon be family. For Dina it’s a chance to get to know them, for ex-CIA agent Jack, it’s a chance to investigate them and see if they belong in the ‘Circle of Trust’.
Greg’s parents Bernie (Dustin Hoffman) and Rosalind (Barbara Streisand) are somewhat eccentric. Bernie is a retired lawyer who now studies martial arts and Rosalind is a sex therapist for the elderly. Greg asks them to tone down their wild personalities while Jack and Dina are staying with them, but this isn’t an easy task for them. Soon enough Jack is up to his usual tricks and sniffing around for ‘skeletons’ in Greg’s closet. As Jack clashes with Bernie and Roz, Greg and Pam’s relationship begins to feel the strain and their marriage is possibly in jeopardy. (Matt Fairfield)
