Naruto and his Genin (rookie ninja) team-mates Sasuke and Sakura must complete their second exam in order to be considered Chunin (intermediary level Ninja). In order to avoid flunking they mus embark on their most dangerous mission yet. A harrowing battle of survival to retrieve the two magical scrolls of "Heaven" and "Earth" and to return them to the Tower before the rival ninja teams do so. After barely making it out of the Forest of Death, Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura proceed to the next stage of the Chunin Exam: a one-on-one sudden death elimination battle!
