Hugo Goulding's world is about to explode. He's the son of ace basketball coach, Duke Goulding, at an elite South Carolina boarding school. He's the supposed friend to the team's star player - and the school's only black student - Odin James. But Hugo's envy over his father's pride over Odin and Odin's own success on the court is at boiling point.

Manipulating all around him, Hugo's goal is single minded and brutal: to use Odin's fatal flaw - his own jealousy - to dismantle his relationship with school sweetheart Desi Brable and destroy his future at the school. Tragedy, misfortune and treachery conspire to help and hinder Hugo's plot until events spiral wildly out of control taking all the players in the deadly game far past the point of no return.

From director Tim Blake Nelson, Josh Hartnett, Julia Stiles, Mekhi Phifer and Martin Sheen head a stellar cast in this chilling and powerful modern day version of Shakespeare's classic tragedy, Othello.
