In this action-packed western, the outlaw John Henry (played by country legend Willie Nelson) has served his twenty-year sentence, and returns to upstanding society. However, he still holds a grudge against Captain Hayes (played by 1970s pop idol Shaun Cassidy), the Texas Ranger who put him in jail.
To show Hayes who really controls the town, Henry robs a bank, and spurs Hayes to come out of retirement just to chase him down again. The star-studded cast also feature POLICE WOMAN's Angie Dickinson and star Richard Widmark.
