Description

Christmas is not a time of celebration for the tight-fisted Ebenezer Scrooge (Alastair Sim). Scrooge turns aside all charity, treats his overworked clerk Bob Cratchit (Mervyn Jones) with contempt and regards all kindness as 'humbug'.
One night, Scrooge is visited by the ghost of Jacob Marley (Michael Hordern), his late business partner. Scrooge goes to sleep, but he is soon summoned from his bed by a series of ghostly apparitions. The spirits take Scrooge on a journey into the past to meet his younger self (George Cole) and into a bleak future where his loyal servant Mrs Dilber (Kathleen Harrison) is disposing of his purloined effects after his funeral.
It is a nightmare that will change Scrooge forever.
Disc 1 - A digitally restored version of the 1951 black-and-white classic.
Disc 2 - A colourised version of the 1951 classic, featuring an introduction by Patrick Macnee.
