    Description

    Release Date: 01 October 1999

Get Ready for some horse-ridin', gun-totin', whiskey-drinkin' fun in this digitally remastered collector's edition of Lawrence Kasdan's Silverado, featuring a never-before-seen documentary with interviews from cast and crew! The spirited Western stars Kevin Kline, Scott Glenn, Kevin Costner, and Danny Glover as four unwitting heroes who cross paths on their journey to the sleepy town of Silverado. Little do they know the town where their family and friends reside has been taken over by a corrupt sheriff and a murderous posse. It's up to the sharp-shooting foursome to save the day, but first they have to break each other out of jail, and learn who their real friends are.
Thanks to its authentic look and spectacular cast, which also includes Rosanna Arquette, John Cleese, Brian Dennehy, Jeff Goldblum, and Oscar winner Linda Hunt (1983 Best supporting Actress - The Year Of Living Dangerously), this exciting Old West adventure created a whole new generation of Western Fans and earned its 'modern classic' status.
After the success of his first two directorial efforts, Body Heat and The Big Chill, filmmaker Lawrence Kasdan was commissioned by Columbia Pictures to write a screenplay for his next project. Kasdan and his brother Mark decided to make it a western: Silverado. Mark Kasdan: 'We used to enjoy Westerns together and played cowboys when we were younger. We shared that enthusiasm and ever since, all the years in between, we've both been fans of Westerns. In a way, this was cooking for a long time.' It was also a big gamble. At the time, with the exception of Clint Eastwood vehicles, Hollywood considered the Western dead. With a proposed $25 million budget, Columbia's hesitancy to greenlight Silverado was understandable.
