    Series Seven
The seventh (and penultimate) series of Steptoe was broadcast in 1972 - the same year that the first Steptoe and Son film was released and Sanford and Son, the American version of the show, began on NBC. This series features some of the best loved Steptoe episodes including the classic Divided We Stand and Leonard Rossiter's brilliant performance in the Desperate Hours.
    Episodes:
    1. Men of Letters: Harold jumps at the chance of supplying an article for the parish magazine on the history of the rag and bone trade in Shepard's Bush. It could be the start of a new career.
    2. A Star is Born:Albert and Harold are both offered parts in the local amateur dramatic society's latest production, but who will upstage whom? Only the opening night will tell.
3.Oh What a Beautiful Mourning: The death of Albert's tight-fisted brother, George, means yet another Steptoe funeral and Albert's keen to claim his share of the pickings. But when the squabbling clan race back from the cemetery like vultures to a feast, they find the house has been burgled...or has it?
    4. Live Now P.A.Y.E. Later: Harold discovers that Albert has 'neglected' to inform the tax department that his wife has died - nearly 20 years ago. It's time to make sure they get their story straight before the taxman cometh.
    5. Loathe Story: After he tries to murder Albert in his sleep, Harold visits a psychiatrist to help get to the root of his antagonism towards his father.
    6. Divided We Stand: A war between father and son culminates in Harold deciding to build a 'Berlin Wall' through the middle of the house to separate himself from his father.
    7. The Desperate Hours: The house is colder than the Russian front, all Harold's eaten all day is a carrot he stole from the horse and now two escaped convicts are demanding money...
