Noah Render (Elias Koteas), an insurance adjuster, goes beyond the call of duty in his job - in his attempts to repair the lives of others, Noah fails to see his own life falling apart. He helps Arianne (Jennifer Dale), whose house has burnt down and has nothing and Arianne makes Noah see that there is joy in having nothing and in starting over. Noah's wife, Hera (Arsinee Khanjian), also becomes increasingly disillusioned with her job as a film classification censor and Noah and Hera realise that, although they have everything, they have less than Noah's clients.
