    Description

    Release Date: 05 January 2009

The legendary Johnny Cash stars as William Addington – ‘The Baron’ - a former pool pro whose lifetime of boozing has cost him his career and family. In a final effort to straighten out his life, he quits drinking and plays pool for charity. Billy Joe “The Cajun Kid” Stanley (Gregg Webb) is a brash, but gifted, young pool player. Managed by Jack Streamer (Darren McGavin), he travels from hall to hall swindling rivals. Incredibly Cash discovers that “The Kid” is really his own son and now he has the chance to make amends for the errors of his life. He determines to try to guide the boy while keeping his real identity a secret. Eventually “The Kid” agrees to let Addington be his coach, knowing it means choosing “gentleman’s pool” over hustling. Anxious to be a role model and desperate to regain his lost self-respect, “The Baron” bids to become boss of the baize again and makes his pro-pool comeback. Sensing that he’s losing control of his young star, Streamer sets out to destroy the veteran ace and when one of his opponents is drugged during a match, all accusing fingers point to “The Baron.” A stunned Billy Joe leaves his father and returns to the scheming Streamer. Now the only hope for Cash’s reborn ‘Baron’ is that he can somehow expose the truth and Streamer. Will father and ‘Kid’ finally be reunited or will ‘The Baron’ be left in the jaws of despair once more?
